Delicious Dining Choices in Cottonwood

The Verde Valley Wine Company Restaurant in Cottonwood
When it comes to eating out, Cottonwood has a restaurant for every taste and budget.

Diners can choose from

-  family-friendly restaurants where kids are welcome and sometimes eat free ethnic eateries

-  restaurants with made-from-scratch, home-style cooking

-  fine-dining restaurants

-  European cafés with home-made pastries and salads

-  finger-lickin’ barbecues

-  hamburger stops

-  fast food restaurants and

-  breakfast and lunch cafes

Cottonwood is home to several well-known chains and many one-of-a-kind local restaurants. Travelers can choose from all-you-can-eat buffets, delis, coffee shops, sandwich and salad specialties, drive-ins and other eateries where it is easy to drop in for a quick bite while sight-seeing.

There are also restaurants that have put Cottonwood on the map in foodie circles, such as  award-winning Nic’s Italian Steak and Crab House in Old Town Cottonwood that has become a special-occasion restaurant for locals and visitors and tops many “best of” lists for its menu and intimate atmosphere.  And there’s Pinion Bistro, a seven-table, three-season restaurant where patrons can savor such house favorites as Dungeness Crab Cakes with Creole Mustard Sauce and Filet Mignon with Roquefort Butter.

Especially popular with families is the chuck-wagon dinner and Frontier West show at the Blazin’ M Ranch, a must-see attraction. “If you like country music, slapstick comedy, and lots of good food, this is a total experience,” said one satisfied customer.

Whether it’s Italian, Chinese, Thai, Mexican, Greek, Japanese, Middle Eastern or American food, you can enjoy it in Cottonwood. Other selections run the gamut from pizza and a chipotle turkey and bacon sandwich to blackened ahi tuna and a prime rib dinner. For a nostalgic supper, diners can choose dishes that grandmother used to make, such as grilled beef liver with onions or chicken fried steak. Vegetarians can also find many options among regular offerings and daily specials.

For that sweet tooth, there is a tempting selection of heavenly desserts:

From fresh home-made pies and cobblers to melt-in-your-mouth Italian tiramisu, New York-style cheesecake, napoleons, éclairs, fruit tarts, ice cream and many types of chocolate cakes, which run the gamut from flourless to chocolate mousse.

Cottonwood restaurants have plenty of character and some can create a special mood. For example, it’s possible to enjoy a candlelight dinner, take in panoramic views of the area, watch a sports game on a plasma TV or sit outside on a patio or sidewalk table.

Minutes away, there are additional fine restaurants in Jerome, Clarkdale, Camp Verde and Sedona to satisfy every culinary preference.

Here is what visitors have said about some of Cottonwood’s popular restaurants:

§  “It’s a great place for breakfast. The atmosphere is cozy and warm, and the prices are very reasonable.” (Randall’s Restaurant)

§  “This restaurant is one of the best values I’ve run across in Cottonwood. They have an all-you-can-eat buffet, with soups, main dishes, and desserts.” (Ming House)

§  “The best place for business lunch is the Tavern Grille, located in the former historic Old Town Palace Theater. The Tavern Grille has a great horseshoe bar, a slew of big-screen televisions with both sports and music videos and booth and patio seating.”

§  “Wine lovers are ecstatic over the new wine shop—the Verde Valley Wine Company—and its restaurant offshoot—the Recovery Room. The Recovery has an upbeat contemporary style, ambitious menu and an extensive and affordable wine list with a fun tasting menu."

§  "The best barbecue in Cottonwood is at the Hog Wild Restaurant, home of the famous one-pound pork chop sandwich.”

You can search the Cottonwood Chamber of Commerce restaurant member list for further options.
